Marcos Moreira holds an Undergraduate Degree in Social Communication/Journalism (1991), a Master's Degree in Letters/Literary Theory (1997), both from the Federal University of Juiz de Fora and a Ph.D. in Letters from USP (University of São Paulo). In 2004, at EHESS (École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales), he had to interrupt his Ph.D. in Epistemology of Language due to the death of his thesis advisor. Marcos was a Literary Theory professor at the Federal University of Viçosa and the Federal University of Piauí. He was also a Communication Theory professor at both the State University of Minas Gerais/Funedi and the Federal University of Maranhão. He is currently the professor of the Information Society course of the Applied Foreign Languages - Multilingualism and Information Society degree, at the University of Brasília. His experience in Letters, Communication, and Epistemology is mainly applied in his discussions of alterity, representation, technique, writing, language, and national identity in the globalized world of the information society.
